NC Speed Bump Installer Company

Speeds bumps are an important and effective device to slow and calm the traffic speeds in your parking lot, parking garage and private streets. Speed management is essential for ensuring the safety of your employees, customers, visitors and tenants. They help provide traffic control and protect pedestrians from motorists that may be driving too fast for the location. The purpose of traffic calming measures is to slow fast-moving traffic down a speed more suitable for the area they are entering. Traffic calming devices, such as speed bumps, may also reduce the volume of “cut-thru” traffic experienced on your property.

Speed bumps are one of the most effective traffic calming devices. They are typically made of recycled rubber, asphalt or concrete. Speeds bumps are very similar to speed humps, but are somewhat more aggressive (they are less gradual, with more “bump”).

Speed humps are intended to reduce traffic down to 10-15 miles per hour, but keep traffic flowing. Speed bumps are more aggressive and intended to slow traffic down to 2-5 miles per hour. Vertical speed impediments are designed to make fast driving uncomfortable. They are the most effective for reducing speeds. We offer several different sizes, styles and material selections to accommodate your individual needs.

Speed tables are intended to reduce traffic down to 25 miles per hour, but keep traffic flowing. Speed tables are long traffic calming devices that typically raise the entire wheelbase of a vehicle to reduce its traveling speed. Speed tables are longer than speed humps with a flat section to accommodate the entire length of the vehicle, and a height of 3-3.5 inches.
